Before starting live trading, one very important Forex aspect that you must try and mentally steel yourself against is that of learning how to deal with losses.

In addition, you must learn how to copy with such set-backs in a very professional manner. Forex Trading is not a predictive activity and the best that one can achieve is to design a Forex Trading System with the probability of gaining as many wins as possible versus losses.

The first step to do this is to perform back testing against historical data. After undertaking this task for a while, you will notice, that no matter what combination or currency pairs, time periods, technical indicators, entry and exit strategies etc you choose, you will always experience a number of losses in your test batch.

This is why you must strive to obtain a Forex Trading System with both a positive win:loss ratio together with the largest average win size compared to average loss size.

Fundamentally, no matter whatever you try, you will almost certainly encountered losses and it is the way that you deal with these experiences that will determine whether you will become a successful trader in the long run.

You are far better off accepting your carefully calculated loss, admitting your mistake and then proceeding onto your next battle.
