Several members of Congress have sold their Berkshire stock in 2026, potentially related to Buffett's exit.

Two members of Congress have sold Berkshire Hathaway stock in recent weeks, with the Benzinga Government Trades page showing both Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.) and Rep. Christian Menefee (D-Texas) selling the stock.

Bill Ackman and Warren Buffett are two of the most well-known investors of the past 75 plus years. While Buffett is no longer the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK)(NYSE:BRK), he built the conglomerate from owning a textile business into an insurance and investment powerhouse. Ackman is trying to accomplish the same.

Ackman Wants the Next Berkshire Hathaway

Speaking at a recent All-In Podcast live event, Ackman highlighted the investment methods used by Buffett to build value for Berkshire Hathaway over time.

Ackman said Buffett was really the first to focus on the asset side more than the liability side of the insurance sector. The investor added that Buffett was able to build a compounding, tax-efficient machine by writing the risks on insurance, taking premiums, and then investing that money up front.

"Buffett started with a crappy textile company," Ackman said

For Ackman, he's attempting to start with Howard Hughes Holdings (NYSE:HHH), a publicly traded commercial and residential real estate company.

Macy's Q1 Preview: Berkshire Stake Adds To High Expectations With Stock Near 3-Year Highs

Macy's Inc (NYSE:M) will look to extend its turnaround efforts on Wednesday as investors await first-quarter results before market open that show a return to modest sales growth.

Analysts expect the department store giant to report Q1 revenue of $4.61 billion, essentially flat with the $4.6 billion reported a year earlier, according to Benzinga Pro. Macy’s has topped Wall Street revenue estimates in each of the last four quarters and in six of the past 10.

But earnings are projected to come in at 2 cents per share, down from 16 cents per share in the year-ago quarter. Despite the expected decline, Macy’s has beaten analyst earnings estimates for 19 consecutive quarters.

Berkshire To Acquire Taylor Morrison

Berkshire Hathaway announced on Sunday that it agreed to acquire Taylor Morrison for $72.50 per share in cash, representing a total equity value of approximately $6.8 billion and a total enterprise value of $8.5 billion — a 24% premium to Taylor Morrison’s closing price of $58.50 on May 29.

The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2026, subject to shareholder and regulatory approval. Upon completion of the transaction, Taylor Morrison Home Corp will become a private company.

Abel and Berkshire Hathaway revealed a new position in Delta Air Lines Inc (NYSE:DAL), buying 39,809,456 shares in the first quarter. This ranked as the 14^th-largest position in the Berkshire Hathaway investment portfolio at the end of the first quarter, valued at $2.6 billion and around 1% of assets.

There are four major U.S. airlines that together have a market share of 70% or more. Of Delta Air Lines, United Airlines (NASDAQ:UAL), American Airlines Group (NASDAQ:AAL) and Southwest Airlines (NYSE:LUV), Delta is the only airline to not partner with Starlink.

Starlink is the internet service owned by soon-to-be-public SpaceX, the space company founded by Musk.
